Lot #7. SULPHIDE. . A reclining animal that I cannot identify. Excellent detail to the figure. No air bubbles. Well centered. The base glass is a pleasant light lavender color. The other is a three layer solid core. Open white core, middle layer of transparent pink, green or blue bands, outer layer of white strands. Polished. Overall chipping remains. 1-9/16". Lot #33. SWIRL. Divided core. Lot of two marbles. Nice pair of divided cores. The smaller is a three layer. Good coloring on both. Both have been polished. Chips remain. 1-9/16" & 1-13/16". Lot #34. SWIRL. Assorted core. Lot of two marbles. First is a solid core. Very interesting core consisting of transparent panels over opaque white. Outer layer is yellow strands. Lot #35. SWIRL. Assorted core. Lot of two marbles. First is a white latticinio core. Three layer. Middle layer is three thin bands in one color scheme and the outer layer is the same width bands in another color scheme. Overall small chips, subsurface moons and some gouges. 1-15/16". Near Mint(-) (8.0). Second is a four band divided core. Nice bands. Outer layer of eleven white strands, fairly evenly spaced. One chip, a couple of subsurface moon and some minor roughness. 1-9/16". Lot #36. SWIRL. Latticinio core. Lot of two marbles. Both are yellow latticinio core. Both have outer layers of bands that are blue on white, alternating with red on white. These are not same cane marbles though. The larger is buffed. Both have chips and subsurface moons. 1-5/8" & 1-11/16". Near Mint(-) (8.1) and buffed. Lot #37. SWIRL. Assorted core. Lot of two marbles. First is a solid core. Four slight lobes. Transparent red band in each trough, transparent blue band on each peak. Outer layer of yellow strands. Polished, chips remain. 1-9/16". Second is a divided core. Four wide multicolor bands. Not much clear space between each band. Outer layer is four sets of white strands. Surface has been polished, some chips remain. 1-7/16". Both ex-collection of Mary Louise Stanley (#1074, #1082). Pre-Sale Estimate: $50-$100. Final Bid: $80.

Lot #38. SWIRL. Latticinio core. Lot of three marbles. First is a white core. Three red outer bands alternating with three blue outer bands. Surface in great shape. 1-5/16". Mint (9.8). Second is a white latticinio core. Outer layer of three white strands alternating with a pink, blue and green band. Small annealing fracture and a small subsurface moon. 1-1/8". Near Mint(+) (8.9). Last is a yellow latticinio core. Outer layer is three bands of pastel colors. Pretty marble. There is one melt spot and two tiny subsurface moons. 1-3/16". Near Mint(+) (8.9). Lot #39. SWIRL. Latticinio core. White latticinio core. Wide core. Outer layer is three pink on white bands alternating with three blue on white bands. Surface has chips and subsurface moons. 1-7/8". Good (7.5). Ex-collection of Mary Louise Stanley (#944). Pre-Sale Estimate: $65-$130. Final Bid: $45.

Lot #40. SWIRL. Divided core. The core is three bands, all the same complex color scheme. The bands are evenly spaced. The clear space between each band is about the same width as the bands themselves. Outer layer is three sets of yellow strands. Each set mirrors an inner band. Very symmetrical marble. Very well designed and executed by a true craftsman. Long annealing fracture covering one band. There are also subsurface moons and a couple of light chips. 2". Near Mint (8.3). Lot #41. SWIRL. Divided core. Four band divided core swirl. Core has two bands each of two different color schemes. Outer layer is two sets of four white strands alternating with two sets of four yellow strands. A few chips and some roughness. 1-5/8". Good (7.4). Lot #42. SWIRL. Solid core. Fat solid core. The core consists of four bands in two alternating color schemes. Outer layer is two sets of five white strands alternating with two sets of five yellow strands. Very well designed and constructed. Annealing fracture on the core. Surface has been buffed. Some light pits remain. 1-3/4". Ex-collection of Mary Louise Stanley (#1062). Pre-Sale Estimate: $60-$125. Final Bid: $130.

Lot #43. SWIRL. Ribbon core. Single ribbon core swirl. Very wide ribbon. Very complex core. Opaque white core covered by two layers of opaque yellow, transparent pink, transparent green and transparent blue. Outer layer is two sets of nine alternating yellow and white strands, mirroring each ribbon face. Large marble. One small moon, a couple of tiny chips and some overall pinpricking. It is very hard to find ribbon cores that are large and relatively undamaged. 1-7/8". Near Mint (8.3). Pre-Sale Estimate: $325-$650. Final Bid: $370.

Lot #44. SWIRL. Latticinio core. Stunning marble. Very large, white latticinio core. Outer layer is four transparent red bands on white, alternating with two transparent blue bands on white and two transparent green bands on white. There is a teardrop air bubble trapped in the center of the core. Core is very well formed. The marble has two manufacturing rough spots on it, a small melt spot and "sparkles". This is one of the largest swirls I have ever seen and it is in great shape. A rare opportunity. 2-1/8". Near Mint(+) (8.9). Pre-Sale Estimate: $300-$600. Final Bid: $525.

Lot #45. SWIRL. Latticinio core. Wide white latticinio core. Well-formed. Outer layer is four transparent red on opaque white bands, alternating with two transparent blue on opaque white, and two transparent green on opaque white. Marble has been polished. Some minor chips remain. 1-13/16". Ex-collection of Mary Louise Stanley (#1061). Pre-Sale Estimate: $50-$100. Final Bid: $60.

Lot #46. SWIRL. Solid core. Three layer solid core swirl. Opaque white core. Middle layer of six transparent pink bands, three transparent blue bands and three transparent green bands. Outer layer is sixteen yellow strands. Two chips, a couple of subsurface moons and some scratching. 1-3/4". Good(+) (7.9). Ex-collection of Mary Louise Stanley (not pictured). Lot #47. SWIRL. Solid core. Very unusual marble. It is a three layer solid core swirl. It would be a three band divided core with very wide bands, if not for the inner solid core. Inner core is opaque white. Middle layer is three bands in identical multicolor schemes. Outer layer is three sets of six yellow strands. The outer layer is set to mirror the spaces in the middle layer. Very well designed and executed. Marble has been polished and small chips remain. 1-5/8". Lot #48. SWIRL. Solid core. Nice solid core swirl. The core consists of three bands of repeating colors. There is a clear space between two bands.Outer layer is three sets of yellow strands. Lot #49. SWIRL. Ribbon core. Interesting double ribbon core. Narrow ribbons. One is blue on white, the other is pink on yellow. There are two outer bands. One is yellow strand, mirroring the blue ribbon. The other is a thin white band, mirroring the pink ribbon. Possibly from near the end of the cane. One melt spot, one small chip, one tiny chip and some overall pitting. 1-9/16". Near Mint(-) (8.2). Pre-Sale Estimate: $175-$350. Final Bid: $190.

Lot #50. SWIRL. Latticinio core. White latticinio core swirl. Outer layer is four blue bands, alternating with four narrower white bands.Has three small subsurface moons. Lot #51. SWIRL. Solid core. Very nice English-type solid core swirl. Gorgeous blue core with white bands on it. Outer layer is three orange bands alternating with three yellow bands. Lot #52. SWIRL. Latticinio core. White latticinio core swirl. Outer layer is three yellow and gray bands, alternating with three orange and gray bands. Nice twist. Base glass is lightly tinted green. Lot #53. SWIRL. Ribbon core. Double ribbon core swirl. One ribbon is blue, pink and yellow on white. The other is pink, yellow and green on white. There are two bands of yellow and white strands mirroring the ribbon edges. One melt spot, a small chip, a small subsurface moon and a couple of tiny pits. Set at the edges of the inner core. Outer layer is two pink on white with blue ribbons. Set to mirror the faces of the inner core. The ribbons of the inner two layers are about the same width. Lot #240. VITRO AGATE COMPANY. Patch oxblood. Shooter size patch oxblood. Transparent clear base with a cushion of opaque white in it. One band of yellow, one of green and several narrow bands of oxblood (a couple ar inside the marble). These had originally been believed by some collectors to be Akro, but I now believe them to be early Vitros, because of the colors and patterns. 1". Mint (9.9). Pre-Sale Estimate: $40-$80.
