Lot #40. SWIRL. Divided core. The core is three bands, all the same complex color scheme. The bands are evenly spaced. The clear space between each band is about the same width as the bands themselves. Outer layer is three sets of yellow strands. Each set mirrors an inner band. Very symmetrical marble. Very well designed and executed by a true craftsman. Long annealing fracture covering one band. There are also subsurface moons and a couple of light chips. 2". Near Mint (8.3). Lot #43. SWIRL. Ribbon core. Single ribbon core swirl. Very wide ribbon. Very complex core. Opaque white core covered by two layers of opaque yellow, transparent pink, transparent green and transparent blue. Outer layer is two sets of nine alternating yellow and white strands, mirroring each ribbon face. Large marble. One small moon, a couple of tiny chips and some overall pinpricking. It is very hard to find ribbon cores that are large and relatively undamaged. 1-7/8". Near Mint (8.3). Pre-Sale Estimate: $325-$650. Final Bid: $370.
Lot #44. SWIRL. Latticinio core. Stunning marble. Very large, white latticinio core. Outer layer is four transparent red bands on white, alternating with two transparent blue bands on white and two transparent green bands on white. There is a teardrop air bubble trapped in the center of the core. Core is very well formed. The marble has two manufacturing rough spots on it, a small melt spot and "sparkles". This is one of the largest swirls I have ever seen and it is in great shape. A rare opportunity. 2-1/8". Near Mint(+) (8.9). Pre-Sale Estimate: $300-$600. Final Bid: $525.

Lot #47. SWIRL. Solid core. Very unusual marble. It is a three layer solid core swirl. It would be a three band divided core with very wide bands, if not for the inner solid core. Inner core is opaque white. Middle layer is three bands in identical multicolor schemes. Outer layer is three sets of six yellow strands. The outer layer is set to mirror the spaces in the middle layer. Very well designed and executed. Marble has been polished and small chips remain. 1-5/8". Lot #240. VITRO AGATE COMPANY. Patch oxblood. Shooter size patch oxblood. Transparent clear base with a cushion of opaque white in it. One band of yellow, one of green and several narrow bands of oxblood (a couple ar inside the marble). These had originally been believed by some collectors to be Akro, but I now believe them to be early Vitros, because of the colors and patterns. 1". Mint (9.9). Pre-Sale Estimate: $40-$80.
