Lot #1. SULPHIDE. . Large marble. Figure of a standing rooster. Well-centered, but a little high. Average detail. Small air bubble on one side. Surface is in great shape, with just one tiny moon near the bottom. The pontil is on the bottom too. 2-1/4". Near Mint(+) (8.9). Pre-Sale Estimate: $250-$500. Final Bid: $200.
Lot #2. SULPHIDE. . Figure of the numeral 8. Figure is set a little low in the marble. The figure broke into four pieces when it was inserted. Small air bubble on the back. The surface is in nice shape, but has two large rough spots and a lare cloudy spot on the back side. Both those spots are likely from manufacture. 1-15/16". Near Mint(+) (8.8). Lot #5. SULPHIDE. . Figure of a donkey. Excellent detail to the figure. Well centered. No air bubbles. Surface has a small moon and several subsurface moons. Lot #6. SULPHIDE. . Floating figure of an angel. Holding a wreath in front of its groin. Has wings. Shallow air bubble on back. The legs are completely intact (usually they break off), but there is a tiny piece off of the top of the right wing. Surface has been polished. Hard to find. 1-5/16". Pre-Sale Estimate: $375-$750. Lot #7. SULPHIDE. . Figure of a seated dog, head bent back, howling. Below average detail to the figure. Shallow air bubble on one side. One tiny chip on the top. This marble is originally from the Mary Louise Stanley collection, although it is not pictured in her book. Still has her inventory sticker on it. 1-5/16". Near Mint(+) (8.9). Lot #22. SWIRL. Latticino core. Outstanding marble. White latticinio core. The latticinio is caging a ghost core. Outer layer is three pink on yellow bands alternating with three purple on white bands. Exceptionally well-made. Great symmetry and balance. One very tiny subsurface moonand one very tiny flake.
