The consignor states that this crate was found in an abandoned store, and that it contained a number of the Peltier Glass No. 5 boxes. However, based on the end label, it is my opinion that this was not a Peltier shipping box. Rather, this is a stock box from a jobber or distributor. It is probably mid 1930s to mid 1940s. In my opinion, it was originally filled with Alley or Ravenswood common swirls. At some point the marbles were sold or removed and the box was used by the store owner to hold the Peltier boxes.
